Episode Thirty-Three: Adrian Petriw

Episode Thirty-Three: Adrian Petriw

Adrian Petriw is a veteran Vancouver-based actor who has found his voice in the city’s competitive animation scene. Adrian’s growing filmography includes Adam in Netflix’s The Hollow, Danny Nedermeyer in Lego Jurassic World: Legend of Isla Nublar, and Gren in The Dragon Prince. He’s voiced Ken in multiple Barbie movies and the titular characters in Scout and the Gumboot Kids and Iron Man: Armored Adventures. Adrian’s been ride-or-die for cartoons since he first heard Mark Hamill voice The Joker in Batman: The Animated Series – and ride-or-die for performing since he wandered into the tents at Bard on the Beach and discovered that acting was a thing! A magical, magical thing! In this at once boisterous and poignant episode (Adrian brings babka, and hilarity ensues), Adrian speaks with Sabrina Furminger about the magic of voice work. He lays out the voice origin stories for three of his most beloved roles – Tony Stark, Gren, and Scout – and discusses his desire to share Ukrainian Canadian stories.
